The other "best of thread" made me want to turn the spot light around to you all.

What was your favorite of your own performances?

Best Theremin performance: Supporting Dorit Chrysler at Cafe Delight, Bristol, or at the Amersham Arms in New Cross.

Best noodly ambient synth performance: Supporting FINAL (Justin from Godflesh / Jesu / Napalm Death / Ice) in The Cooler, Bristol. He told me I sounded like Vidna Obmana, apparently his favourite musician - I was chuffed.

Best band performance: Playing synths in my old band, VILNA, at a small venue called The Junction in Bristol. We nailed that one. We gigged once more and then broke up.

In no particular order.

My band, The Points, opened for The Marked Men at Beerland in Austin, TX last October. The place was packed and everyone was really into it.

With Southern Culture on the Skids at Local 506 in Chapel Hill, NC in 2004. The show was recorded for their live album, unfortunately I didn't make it onto the album.

Playing Smoke on the Water with Ian Gillan's band at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA last summer. That was a really fun night. Ian really enjoyed it, and I might get the chance to play with him and/or Deep Purple next time they come to the area.

"20 leagues under the sea"

Wasn't that by the guy who wrote "Around the World in Eight Days", "Five Minutes In A Balloon" and "Journey To Just Under The Surface Of The Earth"?

My Best gigs? My first gig and my most recent gig. In other words, all of them!

I've been playing gigs for over 30 years, since I was big enough to look of age to get into bars. That's about all I ever did, so I really don't have one favorite. However one that really stands out for me was playing The New Orleans Jazz Fest. with Johnny Adams. We played the RayBan stage, following Aretha Franklin and just before the Nevelle Brothers on closing day.

I didn't know this was a contest.

It wasn't until he mentioned that. It subsequently became a contest just so he could be the winner, see?
