That's correct.  If tags are entered manually, they are not treated as formatting tags.  I think most boards do this.

In my experience, the majority seem to accept tags inserted by either method.

@Touchless - Good point on the flag spam thing.  I can rename that button?  I will have to look into how to make replies only pick the highlighted text.  I tried making it appear in a smaller or italicized font, to no avail.  I will keep looking for the right way to do that, but I figured something was better than nothing.

@gtc - I have put an item on our backlog to aloow formatting with either method.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Jason, with the report post feature, many BBs  pop-up a reason for reporting screen, containing a short note on reporting policy, a set of radio buttons spanning the accepted categories of report, a small text box to add comments, plus Send and Cancel buttons.
