I think I will opt out of further philosophical discussion on TW, but I do agree with Fred's last sentence in the previous post.  The Charioteer sounds like a person that once said and did remarkable things. I'm not hip to the guy. Would you care to 'enlighten' me ? ;)

The lefty Epro I purchased over a year ago's serial number is 0052. I could use a volume module, but I have no one really around me that could put it in for me...

Randy, if you have never read the BHAGAVAD GITA, you must rush out and get yourself a copy of it.

The Prince Arjuna is about to engage in a great battle. He is having serious second thoughts because the "enemy" is another branch of his own family - his cousins and uncles. Arjuna discovers, however, that his chariot driver is none other than Krishna himself, Lord of the Universe.

The BHAGAVAD GITA (Song Of God) is an extraordinary (and thoroughly Advaitist) account of the conversations between poor, tortured Arjuna and his "Charioteer".

For what it's worth, Mahatma Gandhi read from this book every day of his life. I first read it because it was required reading (along with the RAMAYANA) for studying music with the late Indian sitar virtuoso, Ravi Shankar.

The entire work is a bit daunting, but I highly recommend the abridged translation by the late Christopher Isherwood. It is both poetic and insightful......and I see you can pick up a copy on Amazon for $1.49 !!!!!!

Waddaya got ta lose?

Did you know that the father of the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer, was also a Sanskrit scholar? When he saw the vast, immense flash from the first atomic test at Almagordo, New Mexico, he exclaimed, "We've done this before!!"

He was evidently aware of the amazingly accurate account of what seems to be a nuclear war in the Indian epic known as the MAHABHARATA,

.........that's yer next assignment    ☺☺

I ordered it ($5.73 incl tax/shipping), but I can make no promise that I will read much of it unless I am intent on completing it. Call me crazy, I just don't enjoy reading books.  I've probably completed 8 novel length books in my entire life, and they were all books I was forced to read in school.  I winged it in most of my literature courses, and even failed on a number of occasions. I enjoy the story telling medium of movies, Japanese Anime and RPG video games much more.  There is plenty of reading in an RPG, but it is accompanied by visuals and interactivity. (I'm not playing games atm though). Anime is obviously visual, but IMO the optimal experience for an 'english only' speaking person is with english subtitles over Japanese dialog track.  As for religiously oriented texts, I'm generally not interested in the first place. If the stories are not stellar there is high likelihood that I will not make it past the introduction.

Amey, I think Charlie Hobbs is somewhat nearby you. I'm gonna be blunt for a sec. You are doing yourself a disservice by not including Thierry's EPVM1345 module in your instrument.   -edit- okay, on second thought,  you are not doing a disservice to yourself if you are completely satisfied with the smaller dynamic range of the E-Pro without the module.  If you want to venture beyond the limited dynamic range, then you know what to do. For me, the E-Pro sans module was unacceptable.

Randy Rote: "....Call me crazy, I just don't enjoy reading books."

Call me crazy too. I do not read novels. I do not need the imaginations of others to spice up my life. My own imagination is quite fertile enough! I do read technical things, history, archaeology, etc. but no fiction at all.

The BHAGAVAD GITA is not religious, it is more philosophical......it may or may not be your cuppa T. Judging from the little I know of you, there may not be anything in it you don't already know but given your background it might just strike a note....

I agree with you regarding "thérémingénieur" Thierry Frenkel's EPVM 1345. I had put my E'Pro in mothballs until Thierry introduced his marvelous, magical module.

and since this topic is also 'bout doin buziniss: T.less: "...10'000 dollar loss..." he never had it. he expected it. or even more. it bears one of those cruel hoaxes that lead to the ongoin troubles.

took me a while.

OK, that calls for a beer...or a couple of beers.

I'm in the Dallas area. I'm buying.

Cheers, Jim. I don't drink beer, but it would be great to meet and chat about the finer points of the insanity caused by playing theremin. I'm in North Dallas area, Lewisville/Carrollton.

That video was great, Fred. Thanks.
