I have removed this post - even though this post was not off topic, it seems to have been used as an excuse for our ReSident demented troll to hijack this thread. IMO this thread is too important for this hijack to be allowed.

In Pet Sounds is found the sign and also personal to me.
It is the first rock record to incorporate the Electro-Theremin, an easier-to-play version of the theremin. Its inventor Paul Tanner performs with the instrument on the song "I Just Wasn't Made For These Times".
"God Only Knows" unusually referred to "God" in its title, a decision Brian Wilson feared would be seen as blasphemous.
Some among you know something, the time has arrived.

Yes, Christopher, the time has arrived. Actually, it arrived some time ago but nothing happened! I haven't any idea WHY it didn't, BUT IT DIDN'T!
I had thought that GOOD VIBRATIONS was the fist use of the "electro-theremin" ( or "tannerin") in popular rock music, but you are right - PET SOUNDS was recorded before G.V. (earlier in the same year, 1966).
Soon Theremin World will be free of the Specialist. This is one of the best renditions of "Good Vibrations" I have ever heard while it is this song that brought the greatest attention to the theremin. . . until now. Funny how the obvious is unobvious to the uninvited. The theremin is almost human sounding. (-'
