Hi all!
I just got an open theremin uno. My first theremin and my first arduino project. Never soldered that many tiny pins to a board and it looks right but I dunno for sure. Took several hours with that metal screwdriver they gave me to try and calibrate it. Got squeals and gibberish runs of R2D2 noises then it would sound a tone for a hundredth of a turn and then garbage and squeals again.
Here's how one of my attempts to tune it sounded. Is this close to what it's supposed to sound like?
berighteous, that was a good first time DIY theremin demo. My first build sounded like a mouse getting its nuts squeezed. I took it to work and was really proud, everyone just stared. At that time I did not know how beautiful a theremin experience could be. As I observed your technique I kept thinking I could take you at arm wrestling. (-'

lol. Once I learn to actually play it it'll be nice. I need to build a case for it, because the sticky backed tripod mount didn't hold for more than a few days. It popped off and sent the theremin tumbling to the table a few days ago. I'm going to have to build a box or a stand for the thing.
berighteous, If it works here is my favorite wood box for $15 from Amazon. It looks very good with the slide door towards the floor. Usable inside dimensions are 1.3" x 9" x 3.5"

Finding a good theremin enclosure is one of the greatest challenges in theremin design.
