I can play by ear, but I prefer to read music. What music stand solutions are suitable for the EWS theremin?

For EWS you need to find for him a MIC stand, if you need a music stand, any good, but it is necessary to adjust the Theremin to work correctly in these conditions. To MIC stand easier to transport I cut it down to size. Very convenient.

I've had zero luck front-panel tuning my EWS with a metal music stand close-by. Zero beat is nowhere to be found. Move the music stand away and all is fine.

Oh yeah, it happens all the time. You should try to place the theremin is not less than 2 meters from other items...

Yes, that's my issue. 2 meters is way too far for me to see the music. So let me rephrase:

Are music stands available that cause minimal to no interference with the theremin?  Would a stand made of wood or plastic work?

Yes, of course! if a music stand is not made of metal, the impact on the theremin he will not have. And to adjust in a GROUP where all are very close could use a telescopic PITCH antenna. It can be trying to raise or shorten when the regulator front- panel does not operate.

So, something like this Stageline wooden stand could sit in very close proximity to the EWS without problems?

it all depends on the number of nails and screws in construction. I think this stand is too bulky and expensive. I would make yourself out of wooden slats or plastic, and the lower part (the tripod) can be made of metal.

theremin

Here's what I've ended up with. I seem to be able to tune around it, it's fine for individual scores, ok with books, depending on size.
