Hi all,

I have been given a neglected 'Fundamental Design' Skywave H1, and was wondering if anyone had any photos or information that they could share.

Obviously Fred Mundell has sadly passed away, however it would be nice to get this instrument back up and running.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Tufty,

Schematic pdf

We all loved Fred, my assignment was always to see if I could get him excited.

Hi oldtemecula,

 that's the one...

Thanks for the schematic. Don't suppose you have any close-up photos?

Thought I should post an update, that after replacing the 470µF electrolytic, the Skywave is once again making sweet music.

I'm impressed.

Big thank you to Fred.

Respect.

So, now that I have this Fred Mundell designed 'Skywave H1' working again, it would be nice if it could also be made to 'look good' again.

Unfortunately, the unit was neglected and as well as being a bit bashed, is also missing a speaker cover.

Fred stacked two bookshelf speakers for the H1 but the question is, "which exact manufacturer and model did he use?"

The unit is shown as my profile pic.

The main driver is 20w 4Ω

Does anyone know anyone who may have an idea?
