Using DI box on stage or not?

I am a newcomer at the forum. I have been using the Moog theremini in studio for about a year and in a couple of weeks we will use it on stage for the first time. I wonder is there a need to use a DI box on stage with theremini or is it okay to connect directly to the mixer? How do you people use it?

Hi,

my preference would be to run it into an amp/speaker combo placed behind you or at your feet pointing towards you and have this close mic-ed to the desk. This also will double up as a monitor.

You as the performer must be the first person to hear what you play otherwise any small delay in the time taken to get from the theremin to the desk and back to you via the monitors may cause you problems with pitch-hand co-ordination.
