UBERWAVE

An orange plexiglass beauty in a black frame.
A Big Briar / Moog Etherwave Plus modified by subscope.

Added:
30x20x5cm housing with detachable antennas.
Velocity modul: volume by velocity also.
Suprapuffer: bass extension.
Mute switch.
Master volume.
Lighting module. Adjustable. Fixed or proportional to volume.

This is serial #1 and it lives in Taiwan for a while now. While the player had some technical targets to be implemented i was just let free in terms of design and additional features. Something similar i once build for a russian player who influenced the aesthetics somehow: not a wooden but a POM frame.

If you are interested in purchasing please PM me.

Dominik beautiful insides, analog electronics always gets me excited. It is nice to see your forest is still green. I live on the West Coast of the States. Fortunately my back acre and yard are still alive and most days the sky is blue.

Über is a German word that means above or over. In the 2000s it has migrated into the English language and is often spelled uber, rather than featuring the umlaut above the "u". It is often used as a prefix in English to describe something above and beyond the unusual.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed days, the dark sacred nights
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world

Edit: I have a unique way of limiting thermal drift by balancing the Xc of both oscillators. I can make the drift go in the opposite direction with a pot adjustment. Have you ever considered ventilation to keep the insides at room temperature so no warm up is necessary? I believe the EWS is about 37 ma x 12 volts = .444 watts heating up the insides.

Beautiful DOMINIK!  You are a master of construction - and the slow reveal! :-)

Knobs on top & connectors on the bottom makes a lot of sense.

Anything special going on with the pitch antenna connecting pipe?

Looks like an LED tube across the bottom?

Did you do anything to optimize the Big Briar circuits?   The volume side seems somewhat inferior to the later Etherwaves.

Thanks Christopher for the über / uber declaration, for diversion it was a joy to use kind of a superlative..

Dewster, the acrylic tube is a super-diode. Well i like that idea, but no, it simply is an extension. And yes, there is a LED stripe, see my added feature list above. The volume side with that specific PCB was working quite well i must say and at least as good as the Moog EW i have on hand.

Really nice design! Your adds are sure welcome to all Etherwave users. Do the air slits help concerning pitch stability?
