Behringer Behremin

I'm 100% certain a company with the resources of Behringer could make a fantastic Theremin for $99USD.  But I'm 99% certain they won't because I'm 99% certain no one with any influence at Behringer actually plays the thing, and their engineers probably don't understand that optimal coils can't be bought from some coil company.  But I assume they're looking to dominate the Theremini market, which isn't exactly a challenge.  These things should sell like hotcakes, and it's always weird to me that making thousands of something like a musical instrument doesn't make the manufacturer pull out all the stops on the basic design.  Art vs. capitalism, and capitalism always wins.

Behringer just put another post on FB a couple of days ago saying they're still working on the Bheremin..

My guess is that when it finally goes into production it will be worth buying - Of course it wont be as good as an EW Pro or Claravox but it will still be worth playing. I have a small synth and a mixer from Behringer andboth are cheap and good. Maybe not as good as an expensive item but close enough for me a non professional player

Im more interested by the open theremin project than the bheremin. There’s clearly a wealth of knowledge that goes in the former. But I’m sure the early adopters of the bheremin will tell us soon enough if it’s worth the $99!
