Has anyone had success using a lithium battery/inverter portable power source to power an Etherwave or Claravox + amp?
I tried a somewhat randomly chosen "Koosla" product and found that it introduced unacceptable levels of EMI into both theremins. I haven't tried to diagnose this yet.
Can anyone recommend a particular product, or has anyone managed to tame one of these by adding filtering?
I'd prefer to avoid anything lead-acid based.
Is there a reason not to use lead acid? The setup you see below all fits into the black box and can be easily carried like a narrow suitcase. Originally I had an EWS theremin on top which was plugged into an AC power inverter which was wired to the battery below. It worked great and gave me more play time than I had the stamina for. There is a Roland Micro Cube Bass amp permanently mounted in the case and it uses 6 AA batteries. Now I use the Subscope theremin and it is powered by 4 18650 batteries (approved by Dominik). Naturally shedding the weight of the EWS and the battery makes for easier transport. I know this isn't exactly what you are looking for but maybe it will spark an idea or two.
1. I didn't want to use lead acid batteries because a) heavy and b) I have had poor experiences with them failing prematurely.
2. For charging 18650s, I am happy with the "Lii-500" charger - currently about $20 on AliExpress. There are newer models though.

3. During the month (!) that my post was stuck in moderation, I bought another LiFePO4 power station, the Bluetti EB3A. It was a little more expensive, but has none of the EMI problems of the "Koosla".
