Good evening to all the members of theremin world, my name is Gianluca and I write from Italy, after many months of reading about the construction of the theremin etherwave and having already found all the components to assemble it, I got a suspicion about the connection of the secondary of the transformer at 14v AC (pin 3 of the connector) connected directly to the GND of the PCB, I wonder if it does not cause a short circuit or is it possible?
Thanks in advance for those who could help me ..
Sorry I couldn't upload an image
Question on the power supply connection to the pcb for etherwave
If a true transformer it gives you isolation from any shorting. The earth ground you want connected after any diodes or regulators
A ground pin on a switching power supply walwart I would not trust.
So you are building from scratch? did you visit my webpage for any ideas. The best thing I like about the EWS is the box.

Hello oldtemecula, thanks for having responded, let's say that I am almost ready to start this beautiful adventure in the world of theremin and after having recovered everything or almost and having created a PCB from the standard etherwave scheme I will soon start with prototyping and creation of this fantastic instrument hoping to succeed.
I'm not an electronic engineer but a simple electronic device with different projects behind it.
P.S. I saw your website very beautiful and full of useful things.
Thanks again
Excuse my english but I use google transletor
I'm also confused about that 14V AC transformer. Perhaps the easiest way to read the document is to apply an amplifier with grounding, and then you don't need a grounded power supply. If you have new ideas about power supply, please let me know that I am trying to build EW.
Yes those funny large letters, I always paste my text into notepad to remove funny characters then paste into TW.
I do not want to redirect anyones build but you must adapt to what is available. I like this $16 12vac transformer here in the states.
Could 12vac effectively drive 12 volt regulators in your application I am not sure, 17 volt peak or 15 volt overhead average? It's close.
Then again this is the least of the concerns I would have in a EM or EW build, it is the end results.

Gianluca should be in bed, he said: I bought a transformer on Amazon with various outputs in Vca unfortunately I can't insert the photo but if it works I'll let you know ...
Christopher
I can buy a transformer with an output of 14 vac, but it is not grounded. I can see that some people have drawn a plan of transformation, but I can't understand it. I'm building an EW according to the hot rodding drawings. I want to ask if there is anything that needs to be changed in this drawings.
