This is getting to be outrageous. I wrote to Moog again last week and asked,
“Has production started on the Claravox yet? if not, when?”
Once more, they refused to respond. I sent a considerably stronger message this morning - so far, no response.
At this point, I wonder if anyone has canceled their order? It’s been more than two months since we last heard anything directly from Moog, when they stated,
“. . . the production of Claravox Centennial will begin in our Asheville, NC factory by May.” Well, it’s the middle of May now and nothing directly from Moog.
I sent another message this morning and, no response so far. However, after reading on this forum that maybe an instrument might be delivered (to another person) at the end of July or August, I looked at Moog’s site and their “live chat” was available. Here’s a portion of their “response“:
“. . . I apologize that you haven't seen a recent response. I can confirm that production has begun however I have no other information on shipments or ETAs. Those would all come from our Sales team. They are in communication with our dealer network regularly, so your dealer should have the most up-to-date info along the way. You can also send them a direct email at salesdepartment@moogmusic.com”
As I’ve heard nothing from my dealer (Prymaxe), I just contacted them and they’re contacting Moog now; when (if) they receive a response, they’ll let me know.
At the moment, I’m pretty hot under the collar and if we had a viable alternative to Moog and the Claravox, I’d cancel my order. I’m particularly unhappy because I paid for the instrument in full (plus interest) months ago.
Update: Moog told my dealer that they’ll provide an update “as soon as they can.”
