Hello, im steve and im from toronto, canada.
Ive been a fan of all forms of electronic and experemental music for my entire life, and ive been wanting to take up the theremin for years now.
Recently i attended an experemental music festival and there were a few thereminists there, but the one that most inspired me the most was Dorit Chrysler.
After that i knew i had to add a theremin to my studio, and learn to play it as AN INSTRUMENT rather than as an expensive noise machine.
So i went out and got the etherwave 'kit' and assembled it and immediately started to find out just how hard it was just to play a simple scale.
Ive been going through the instructional videos from Lydia Kavina and Peter Pringle and pretty much having a really hard time getting the hang of the two styles of fingering, but i didnt get into this because it was going to be easy, now did I?
Anyways, its going to be a while before i am ready to add any theremin content to my music, but i am definitely more than willing to study this thing until i can.
