I added two pipes covered with rubber from bicycle tube (prevents from sliding) and two bolts + piece of metal to set height and width of stand.

My theremax is entirely DIY (cabinet, antennas, pcb, panel etc). Remember to have metal plate under pcb, whole bottom of theremax should be covered (I have 1mm thick aluminium and 3mm plywood - probably thats why my theremin doesn't interact with stand).

Volume antenna is 10mm diameter 1mm thick aluminium pipe bent bare hands on this:

Pitch antenna is from broken lamp 12mm dia 2mm thick, probably steel, screwed into thicker piece of pipe, maybe part of faucet I found somewhere. Remember to polish aluminium pipes with polishing paste and felt to give it shiny look. It's good to have two antennas which are disconnected easily for transport. Look for shops selling aluminium in your area to get aluminum pipes and sheets.

the kit i built has a base of:

8-3/8" x 15.0"

just a bit bigger than spec due to my cutting of wood with hand power tools.

the spec sheet that came with it lists base as:

8.25" x 14.75"

my theramax cabinet/lecturn is diy. cheap wood from home depot and a metal oven cake pan (cut to dimensions to cover bottom). the pcb via standoffs sits on the metal bottom surrounded by cheap particle wood.

that's interesting. i'll see what's at the local guitar center for cheap stands first. otherwise i can do this dyi. they may have something cheap and sturdy for this

does copper work for antenna's? i have some useable size pipe in the garage from a bathroon tearout. otherwise is can get aluminum around here

these thicker antenna's -- they are better for capacitive touch versus the thin "coat hanger wire" that came with the kit?

Thanks for the info guys. So, the bottom panel is actually thin metal then? That would explain why the drawings were confusing me. I assumed it would be wood.

i ended up getting a single-x from on-stage, about 20.00usd. suits me fine for now. PAiA sits well on this stand.

Here's a list of media / projector / laptop tables that would be excelent for supporting theremins that can't be mounted on a mic stand.

I have the projector table that was $117. Sounds high, but it's surved me well. Holds my Wavefront Travel Case theremin, and the PAiA nicely.
