What theremin models give a throatier or human vocal sound, not a whistle?

Another stray thought...Kyle has his fingers in lots of projects.....restoring/collecting antique vacuum cleaners, old computers, telephones, Victrolas, etc. Now he is distracted by the fairer sex it seems, and recently passed his Amateur Radio Exam.....the official entry pass into the Hallowed Halls of Supreme Geekdom.

I wish I had half the ability he obviously does at his age.

Recording theremins is a difficult proposition. No matter how hard one tries, it seems, the subtle overtones and timbres just are not captured, OR I simply don't know what I am doing or am using vastly suboptimal recording conditions.

I have had better luck using the line out jack on the amp to recording equipment directly. BUT you must have a fast PC or you get little annoying pops when the hard drive head skips around.

Jeff! Finally something we can truly agree upon! The execution of the player. What a great idea! Perhaps we should execute all bad thereminists......no...wait....if we did that there'd be no one left.

Reading Coalport's posting, a clear cartoon image appeared in my mind - I am no artist (as in, I have trouble even drawing stick figures - LOL) .. My mental image was of a thereminist, hand manacled to the volume antenna, awaiting the chop.. The above was the closest I could find to what was in my mind, which I could edit with my extremely limited artistic skills.

Yes, all thereminists should be put down with great haste. Beheading with a large ax is too iffy and prone to mistakes. Any volunteers to be first in line for a closer look at Dr. Guillotin's diabolical invention??

Truly, gives great meaning to the old phrase "Heads Will Roll!!"
