Well?

If there had to be one?

For me, it's Edan (http://www.myspace.com/eeddaann). First musician I was ever really interested in, has always inspired me, and has always made positive, original music. He's also a dab hand at the Theremin, per recent developments.

Always since a teen been a Terje Rypdal fan. Got 30+albums and bootlegs galore - he does classical, heavy, jazz & more. Unique. An ECM artist.

Here's a nice clip (this recording actually appears on his heavy "Chaser" album). Perhaps shows how theremin was a logical progression for me.

PS - ignore other clips on youtube of him reuniting with the Vanguards (like the Shadows) band that he was in when a teen. Not typical of his output. The above clip shows one of his signature sounds.

Wow - HARD.

Uh, all of them? No, can't be all of them, but it's a lot of them!

I have to say that Debussy kicks some major ass though.

My stupid, jumbled brain had trouble with this one.

See, above is what you wrote. But when I read it, I thought you were talking about a band called "The Debussy Kicks" and that sentence went downhill from then on.

Right now I'm torn by a three way tie (am not counting favorite composers but players*):
Virgil Fox,
E. Power Biggs,
and
Clara Rockmore.

I'll probably change this post in a few minutes,
sorry Jon B. hope the xml feed is fixed by now :~)

* one conductor I worked with used to call us choristers "the singers" and the orchestra "the musicians", and they both still tease him about it.

Hmmm. I honestly have no idea. My favourite musicians change all the time.

Currently. . . . hmm. . . . Brahms and Beethoven.
