I simply ducktaped a funnel to the front of a little mini-amp, stuffed it into a small box with lots of foam around it to cut sounds from the source, stuck a half inch outer diameter tube to the funnel, and away we go. Film at 11. What day, is anyones guess.

This was an interesting performance. I like it. It sounded like a group of thereminists playing in unison. I could easilly tell you did not simply cut and paste these tracks because I could hear the subtle imperfections, and differences one notices with live groups. Pretty cool. Have you considered doing a multiple theremins per part for an evin more orchestrial, or choral like sound? BTW, thanks for posting it.

Hi. I made two new videos over the last few days.

Patsy Cline - Crazy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vUReRiCI2A)
I'm not too pleased with how this one came out. I completely flubbed it up while recording, but was in a hurry to get it done before leaving for work, and when I got back, I had comments that I didn't want to delete, so I left the video as-is. It is what it is. ;)

Feelings (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MYhGb9_8GqE)
On this one, I had more time to relax and enjoy it. I even threw in some improv! At the end, I play it back at twice the speed. Not only is it entertaining (to me, at least :)), but it gives a unique perspective of seeing different habits that would not be apparent otherwise.

As always, comments welcome! Anything that I should try out? Anything that I should quit doing at once?

Today, I had the pleasure of playing an authentic 1929 RCA Theremin at The American Museum of Radio and Electricity in Bellingham, Washington. It was an absolute thrill!

I took a lot of video of the visit, a little of which can be seen here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF888OLUZOQ).

Enjoy! :)

Hi all!
I finally got around to going through the pics I took at the Museum. If you are interested, you can download the two zip files from these links:

RCA Theremin (http://www.mediafire.com/?1m5tjnlzgm0)
RCA Theremin 2 (http://www.mediafire.com/?1rcntbewziy)

These are full resolution 8.1 megapixel images, nice and crisp (except maybe one or two)! 39 photos in all. Includes close-ups of the inside and outside of the RCA Theremin!

UPDATE 6/26/2008: Link is now out-of-date.

Here is a link to my photobucket album of the trip. 39 photos of the Theremin in all, including LOTS of close-ups! If you are interested in full 8.1 megapixel (3264x2448) resolution versions of these, send me an email at carport888 (at) hotmail (dot) com.
