I'm still going to wait, but I feel a bit like Sally in the pumpkin patch waiting for the Great Pumpkin... "You think you're so smart. Just wait until the Great Pumpkin comes. He'll be here! You can bet on that!.... "

I like your attitude, Ellen.

I ordered the Claravox in early November to “save 2020.”  Come on, pumpkin!

I am strongly considering canceling my order for the Claravox Next Millennium Theremin. I currently have little faith that the Claravox Halloween Edition will be delivered by 3054 A.D. Personally, I prefer my pumpkins fresh! 🤪 Frankly, I’m tired of Moog’s charades - their lack of response is simply reprehensible.

I am, however, taking a very serious look at Dominik’s Subscope - it has a lot of cool timbres and seems very responsive. His improvisation videos are also extremely impressive. The positive comments by others are also very persuasive.

In addition, I’m following the development of the D-Lev closely as that appears to be an incredible instrument!

Hey Contra, just sent you a PM with some Voicematic 120 recordings! Hopefully that helps your investigation (:

Since this thread has gone off the rails a little into a Subscope discussion I started a new Subscope topic here since it appears to be of current interest.

The fact that this Claravox thread has evolved into a "Claravox alternatives" discussion is somewhat justifiable because Moog hasn't given anyone anything positive to talk about.  They must have some big problems that go beyond "supply chain problems" as stated.  Moog's initial candor to Jason's Q&A communications with Cyril Lance in the beginning seems to have taken a 180.  A frank explanation about the true nature of the problems would do a lot to settle the rumors.

I don't think anything that they could divulge, up to and including the most embarrassing engineering blunder discovered at the last minute could be as damaging as their silence and the rumor mill that it allows to grow.  I like Moog as a company and have had some almost unbelievably friendly and candid experiences talking with a couple of their folks in the past, but I'm guessing that this culture has been clamped down on for now.  Something's amiss, but I think their messaging has been terrible and could be causing more reputational damage than any truth that I can imagine.

I'm still sticking with my pre-order, and in my silly imagination I'm thinking that someone over their figured out that some of their customers really expect  to see a pitch preview feature in this "Pro" grade instrument and it was a blunder to leave it out. So they pulled the early production kits to put the feature in.  I hold little hope, but it's a scenario.

I'm really, really looking forward to the teardown, if and when...

I’m hoping there’ll be a 3-season long Netflix series on the claravox kerfuffle… with added conspiracy theories and maybe some international spy drama? The ghost of Clara popping in intermittently to show dismay and disappointment?

Ending in the overwhelmingly disappointing finale episode exposing that the scandalous delay was entirely due to a walnut shortage...

I happened upon a Zoom session interview with Dorit Chrysler who has one of the Claravox pre-production prototypes/developement models and is involved in developing some of the presets for the synthesizer section a.k.a. the modern mode, and she talks about her Claravox and demonstrates some sounds she's been working on.
Also a talk about musicianship and creativity, the use of the theremin with a wide variety of music genres and in art beyond the musical/auditive.
