Tia Thomas was eliminated from the Scripps National Spelling Bee today when she misspelled the word "theremin" as "theramin".
In Tia's defense, "theramin" is an all-too-common misspelling (as evidenced by at least 20 auctions daily on eBay), and she did spell some pretty complex words prior to her final round.
