We're pretty sure the idea of creating music by dancing all started with Leon Theremin's Terpistone. Now, designer Giuseppe Guerriero and Yamaha have teamed up and taken another look at the concept with the Physical Sequencer.
The PS is comprised of a 7x8 foot grid with 56 optical sensors used to trigger sounds. From the description, I can't tell if the sensors are simply toggles or if they detect and use proximity to modify the sounds in any way.
Theremin or not, I'm sure my kids would love playing with something like this.
