Flutes from the East and the West - Feb. 12 - New York



Elizabeth Brown is best known to us here for her thermein compositions and performances. Elizabeth is also an accomplished orchestral flautist and has been specializing in the Japanese traditional flutes.
This Saturday Kohei Nishikawa and Elizabeth Brown will be performing new and traditional music for Western classical flute and three kinds of Japanese flute: the transverse nohkan and shinobue, as heard in Noh, kabuki theatre, and the shakuhachi, the vertical bamboo flute.
