Theremin friends meeting, exchanging and learning on September 26th, 2015
Hands Off 2015 is an event with and around Theremins and will be held on September 26th, 2015 from 10:00AM to 07:00PM in Poulton Hall, Village of Bebington, Wirral, CH63 9LN (Liverpool area).
The Theremin, named after its inventor Leon Theremin, a Russian physicist, inventor, and musician, was created in 1919 as one of the very first electronic music instruments. The use of electromagnetic fields around two antennas allows to play it without actually touching it.
Hands Off 2015 is an universal event: Meeting, exchanging and socializing is one very important aspect for theremin players, as are lessons, workshops, presentations, and a Theremin service – upgrade – repair atelier.
Hands Off 2015 is organized by one of world’s most famous thereminists Lydia Kavina, assisted by co-teacher and “theremengineer” Thierry Frenkel. Terry Bowler organizes the venue. Presentations by Gordon Charlton and David Young will complete the program.
